Artist Interprets Family with Lifelike Realism
Posted by Brendan on Friday, February 13 @ 02:00:00 PST

This week the commissioned artist named "My Older Brother" delivered his work of artistic genius. It's a portrait of me and my family. It's really slick!

We asked him for a photo-real portrait of us all together using any medium he chooses. He went with felt pens on paper. Not the best choice for archival purposes, but hey man, he's the artist here. Who am I to mess with that?

What we got was far better than I could have expected. While not truly photo-real, it's a pretty stellar piece. Not only are people more than sticks, they all have their own distinct characteristics, just like in real life.

I have to admit, I am a little insulted that I ended up as a walking head, but I guess that's what I am to him. Hey, at least I'm not mama, she's got a bonus arm growing out of her eye. That's pretty weird if you ask me, you know?

The cost for the work has been astronomical. We've been giving him room and board for the last four and a half years, plus covered all his schooling. In the end I'm sure you can agree it's well worth it. This work is on display in our personal gallery, along with many of his other earlier works.

This item is not for sale.
