Age Discrimination Crippling Toddler Industry
Posted by Brendan on Tuesday, September 02 @ 08:00:00 PDT

Driver's Ed lessons were cut short when I was informed of this outrageous act of discrimination.

Americans have fought for freedom and equality for hundreds of years, but sadly very little progress has been made. Age discrimination has been created and propagated by old people unchecked to date with not so much as a glimmer of change on the horizon.

In most states you aren't allowed to drive a car until you're 16 years old. Sixteen! One excuse given is a lack of formal education;but public education is not even offered until age five. And whose idea is that? Old people's for sure. Another excuse is that cars are too big for youth to drive safely. But who designs and builds these cars? That's right, old people again. Not just old people though, but huge old people.

Sure, build it for someone with a minimum height of 5-feet and, you bet, pretty impossible for a lot of us to operate.

Another excuse is that you can't write a check or sign for a loan to buy a car until you're 18. Another bit of elderly asserted discrimination right there. And what if we want to pay cash from our lottery winnings? No such luck again, can't even play the lottery until you're 18; convenient, isn't it?

The state of Oregon forbids drivers from pumping their own gas. The excuse is safety but the reason is industry. They wanted more jobs in the state and this was an easy way to get it. This is no different. By excluding young people from working there are more jobs available for old people and by taking responsibility away from us fractional-sized people creates even more jobs still. I'd love to fire my driver right now to save money (among other reasons) but how could I bring you the news if I did that? How could I travel and report?

This November vote equality. It's the only hope we have. Of course we toddlers can't vote either; and I'm not sure there's any voting going on this November, but don't get me started on any of that either.
